I added thed the tail light with the Harley layback LED as well. Everyone says they can see me very good! I also changed the front turn signals to LED as well from Harley.
Deng, that rear end looks like a big "bus" from behind--good job.
Where did you get the LEDs to fill the void between the fender and saddle bags?
Those are from Superbrightleds made for big rig side markers, they have only 2 wires and to make them run/stop/signal was little complicated but thanks to google it's all doable. Originally I made stainless steel mesh inserts for those holes looked good but not getting much attention the lights are secured with double sided tape extremely reasonable priced and light weight.
I know exactly what you mean, what kind of license plate bracket is that?
Thanx,
Paul
It's Harley lic plate frame take off from my old bike the light is just stick on from Custom Dynamics, it really gets attention like Knight Rider TV show light moves side to side in running mode and flashes few seconds in brake mode . I had BMW group follow me to a gas station to inquire about it.
I dig the back fender 7125 - hope to sometime get that for my SGS in Charcoal. Haven't found a painter yet who I'd trust to get it color matched (or at least as close as you possibly can) Here's my SGS with the lights on the bags.
Have those on our Limiteds and added some more to increase visibility since stock rear end didn't stand out but not anymore instead it's very bright and all DOT compliance lights.
Looks good. All you are missing is the HD LED tail light.
My will be delivered Thursday. Please post some picks of yours, like all the routing of the harness and wires.
Thanx,
Paul
I have it all buttoned back up, and I don't want to take it apart in this heat and take photos. (95 to 100 degrees before the heat index is calculated.) The installation paperwork is pretty straight forward so you'll have little or no problems. One thing to watch for...make sure you locate the correct plug/socket into which you must insert the new module. In my haste to put it together I installed it in the wrong connectors. (See photo.) The top photo is for the FLHX family of bikes, while the bottom one is for my Ultra Classic. Needless to say, it didn't work with it hooked to the incorrect connector. I finally realized my mistake and used the correct connector as shown in the bottom photo.
Speaking of the heat, it's so hot that I saw a bird pick up a worm with a potholder!
