I never have.....YET

In the meantime, I bent mine back that came with the detach kit. Not the greatest option, but it works!

It's not fender mount but a nice look IMO, the one I have is from Native Custom Baggers.

I refused to drill any holes too so not being able to find one I made my own. Cut and drilled it out then tweaked and bent it till it fit the way I wanted.

There is one made by Softbrake, I have it but don't have all of the finishing pieces yet, so have not tried it. a little pricey but NO holes and easy to install, we will see.

I drilled holes in the fender of my two previous conversions but I chose not to on this CVO due to the high end paint. Bending it back does help. Also found it to be a real PITA to put the stock large panhead screw back in that holds the plate bracket on....Ended up using an allen head.

How did you mount the Road King tail light bar? The Ultra rear fender doesn't have the dimples and holes for the mount. Did you have to modify the light bar or just drill holes in the fender?

Would you show a picture when you get it installed? Would love to see what it looks like.

I too am in the process of this conversion and don't want to drill holes. Does the softbrake plate have rubber on the bake so it doesn't scratch the fender? Also, does it hook onto the fender lip under the brake light or the brake light itself?

Thanks,

Ron

I'd like to to see pics as well. I'm piecing together my detachable tour pack kit project and this is one of the last missing components. Someone posted a picture of a curved plate located right below the tail light that looked really cool. Some folks have pics that don't show the state required light for the plate so I'll have to accommodate that in my state. The plate sits above the tale light and I'd need it below somehow.

I have a 2012 Limited and the solution using softbrake is for 2014 and above.
