Who leaves the kit on all the time.....
I ask as I like the detail HD added on the Rushmore's......I think I will only be putting my docking kit on for trips and reverting to stock for most of the time....

i probably do 4 - travel trips a year and rarely carry a pillion - which I guess has a bearing...

If you run a tour pak and take the docking kit off - you might as well just but a stock Ultra/LTD fixed rack for next to nothing - it's actually be less work than readjusting the docking hardware every time.

 

I leave it on all of the time. They make magnetic covers to go over the connections points. It's not quite as sexy, but mine is a rider, not a show queen.

 

Do you mean who leaves the quick-detachable parts on? Or the actual docking kit?

My docking kit stays on the bike 100 of the time. It's bolted and torqued with Loctite.

Now, my detachable parts (sissy bar and luggage rack) stay on probably 75% of the time. I almost never have a passenger, though. It's nice to have the sissy bar when a pretty girl wants a ride! LOL!
