but I have 15k on my sg. Works good so why mess with it. I change all three holes at same time also. It's cheap when compared to cost of the bike or repairs.

I put Redline in my primary the day I bought the bike (62 miles on the clock) and installed a Baker Attitude Adjuster manual chain tensioner while I was at it - in reverse order, actually. Also dumped the OEM tranny lube & went back with Redline tranny oil.

Couldn't be happier with all of the instantaneous improvements I noticed when I road-tested it, and from then on, too!

Put Redline in my 2012 primary when I had it and instantly developed a clutch slip (in 5th gear only, not sure why). Double checked clutch adjustment at the cable and clutch and everything was in spec. Switched back to Formula + and everything was fine again. I know a lot of guys run Redline primary and are happy with it, but after that experience, I stick with Formula+. I also noticed when browsing Fuel Moto's website, that they did not recommend synthetics in the primary. I'm sure they have their reasons as well.

Wow, lots of different experiences. Here is mine.

At the 1000 mile service of my 15 RoadGlide I put Mobil1 VT in the motor, Redline shockproof in the tranny, and Redline primary fluid in the primary.

Tranny was nice, smooth and quiet, motor was happy, but the primary was noisy. Clutch seemed fine, just a lot of noise. Now I did not do any kind of sound study or anything scientific but I have been riding HD for over 40 years and I know what the primary should sound like.

Dumped the Redline out of the primary and put Formula+ back in. Nice, quiet primary again.

So I am back to my usual tried and true combo of:

Motor Mobil1 VT
Tranny Redline Shockproof heavy
Primary HD Formula+

That's my story and I am sticking to it!

I can tell how my bike is operating by the sounds it makes, how it feels and what the oil plugs look like when I drain. Engine sounds nice, no Issues there. Trans shifts nice and plug is spotless when I drain it. Primary runs quiet for the most part, I can hear the comp working sometimes, clutch is always consistent. Today after a 80mph run to work for 20 miles, I can hold my hand on the primary cover no problem, fuzz/sludge on the plug when I drain. I think my oils are doing their jobs just fine.
HD360, HD Formula +, Redline

HD360, HD Formula +, Redline
Wow, being able to even touch the primary cover after a hard run like that is impressive.

The burn I got on my leg from lightly touching the derby cover while moving the bike around in my shop (after I had changed into shorts - it was 100 degrees that day) when I got it home from the dealer the day I bought it is only just now healing up!

I was moving it to drain the fluids and do some other stuff and went back with Redline in the tranny and primary. Drained and refilled the engine oil tank with H-D 360. I'll run that at least till it's broken in. I'll try touching the primary cover after I ride it again.

Are you planning to just stay with good ol' H-D 360 in the engine? I've been kinda thinking along those lines myself.

In all fairness, that was a 60 degree morning with 180 eng oil temp that registers on the dip stick, still impressive to me though. I like the HD 360 just fine, its an engine specific oil with a good additive package.
