Default Acc Switch Kit for Street and Road Glides, $120??

Decided to mount my CD Cool Magic driving lights on my new RGS. All dummy switches are on the dash. Harley has a "power" kit that runs $120 to provide a switch and some wires. You still have run all those wires under the gas tank as well. I said BS on that, bought a $3.95 switch from EBay and mounted my own using the wires that run to the dummy switches. Works perfect, my lights only draw 3/4 of 1 amp. No thanks Harley.

That's a good deal, but you didn't need to run wires. You needed just 69200172, it's about $60 for dash panel switch assembly, since it doesn't look like you're running passing lamps, you'd just have to redirectthe existing output wiring. That switch pack is plug and play. The $120 harness 71400105 CAN be used for that but it has lots of other applications as well... I got the $120 deal for adding separately controlled Fogs, but haven't decided if I want to use it yet.

No passing passing lamps on the SGS or RGS. I do like the super bright twin LED headlights on my RGS. That with the CD Dynamic Ring Turns are pretty bright. Just wanted to add my CD driving/fog lights on the caliper mounts with a separate switch on the dash which I did. Still saved a boat load of $$ over the Harley option

The switch kit also includes the pig tail that attaches under the left side cover. I found it super convenient. To each is own.

You are welcome to spend $120 for the kit for RGs and SGs need, I was fine with $3.99 I suspect mine turns the lights on and off just as well as the $120 one, but like you said, to each his own. Difference to me is $116 to spend on more bike stuff

I am not commenting with regard to the money saved. I have hooked up driving lights, heated grips and Love jugs. The kit also works well for this. Keeping your accessories plug and play. My point is it isn't just the switches it includes a fused harness with relay built in. For some that is worth it. I have three items hooked up to the bike in a very stock fashion. For me the less I need to cut into the stock wiring on the bike the better. Makes dealing with any warranty issues in the future easy!

What brackets did you use to mount lights to the calipers?

I would spend the $120 for two reasons. One, for the reasons netwon outlined and two, for aesthetic and switch type consistency. I for one would not want that square toggle switch on my bike. It may be $116 cheaper, but it also looks cheap. For a 25-30K bike, I want it to stay looking like one!

I went with the 3 way switch. One for heated seat, one for the cool magic lights, one for led accent lights.

Blends in with the controls, easy to install.
