Default Noise when applying front brake..

I noticed when backing my bike out of the garage (not running) that when I hit the front brake, there is a "popping" metal sound... not sure what this is. When you guys get the chance.. maybe try it and see if your bike does this.. doesn't sound to cool! My driveway has a small incline and I try to ride the bike all the way down it backwards with my feet up. Haven't gotten all the way.. but close!

Maybe the pads moving inside the calipers,
see if you can make it in both directions

edit: can't roll backwards with my feet up for ****, can't get the hang of it lol. Going to keep trying thou.

Yes, my 2014 SGS does it too. Dealer advised normal due to the floating rotors, Although I think it's pad shift, which would also be normal.

Mine too. I thought it was the suspension unloading but the pads moving makes more sense.

Cool! Had me thinking something was going on!

Gwaxley.. keep trying, you'll get it. It's good for when you're in a hurry and have to back up LOL

I have about 17K miles and just noticed the same thing starting to happen. I inspected calipers and didn't see anything out of place. Brakes work fine. Mine does it in both directions.

A little Caliper Moly Lube on the ends of the pads where they go in the calipers and on the pins will help lessen this noise, it won't however make it go completely away, my 2014 FLHX made that noise and so does my 2016 FLHTK, the Moly Lube helped, I very rarely hear it any more.

Lube your brakes...LOL. My wife asked if WD40 would help my car's brakes from making noise. I said, YEP.
