RT Zumo 665 or Boom Box 6.5 GPS
Dealer flashed radio yesterday for audio input for RT Zumo. I left the dealer playing the media player on the 665 over the speakers. I tried the boombox GPS and compass showed up but nothing else. I stopped and called the dealer and talked to the SW. He said you could have the boombox GPS or the Zumo GPS, but not both. I set the Zumo to home and the voice commands would play over the radio or USB Media. I took bike back to dealer today. SW said Zumo would not do voice commands for 6.5 boombox, just the 4.3 boombox. Is this true?

The RT Zumo 660 and 665 will work with the 6.5, when the dealer flashed your radio he must of unchecked your internal GPS - I'm not sure if I am explaining this correctly, but there is an option to turn off the internal GPS thru the dealers "Digital Tech Program". If you search previous post on the aux connection and 660/665 GPS installations there is more detailed info.

I am not certain what you are the dealer is saying - Zumo will not do voice commands for the 6.5.
Are you referring to voice commands like Tune to 104.4? Or are you talking about hearing the gps directions over the speakers/headsets?
The 6.5 is an upgrade - why on earth would he suggest that the 4.3 could do something that the 6.5 could not? The RT 665 and 660 will work with the 6.5.

They should reactivate the Boom GPS and add Auxiliary 3 for selection under the Media menu. I had my dealer name my Auxiliary 3 "Zumo" so I was clear which one to select.
To hear the Zumo the Boom must have the Auxiliary 3 input selected under media. Then the only audio that is played through the Boom is what comes from the Zumo - direction prompts and music if you use it for that.

To expand on the above post. If you have the tuner/radio selected, the zumo will not interrupt the radio to give voice prompts.
If you have auxillary 3 selected and are playing music from your zumo, it will interrupt.
To hear your zumo nav prompts the 6.5 must be set to auxillary 3 and the dealer has had to have programmed that port.

I have a Road Tech z660 on my '15 FLHTK with the 6.5 Boom. My z660 will send guidance through the boom and interrupt the music to do so.
I have it set up with the 3.5 aux jack, the input set to tone interrupt and the software is v1.19.1.
I also turned off the voice guidance on the boom so I only have one set of voice instructions, but I have the visual route and map on both the boom and zumo.
Most dealers are not well versed on how to set this up correctly, but it will work for the Harley Road Tech z660/665. Not for any other external GPS that I know of.

I do have 1.19.1 installed, and no, I didn't have to have it re-flashed to maintain the AUX input when updating. There was an issue with v1.19.0 which caused the tone interrupt to not function correctly.
I have had trouble when doing "restore" and losing the AUX, and having to take it back to the dealer.
