RT Zumo 665 or Boom Box 6.5 GPS
#11
It is my understanding through reading others' experiences that the non-HD units do not send the tone that causes the head unit to interrupt. Maybe someone with 1st hand knowledge will chime in.

Thanks for all this info. I also have my Zumo mounted on my 15 Road Glide CVO. I find it interesting that we all must agree that the ZUMO is a superior unit to the infotainment GPS. I just returned from a 1000 mile weekend trip on my new CVO and confirmed that I will be keeping the ZUMO. Good thing I didn't buy the bike based on the infotainment unit or I might be upset.

I read what Biglew said about the dealers not knowing a lot about the option to connect the Zumo RT and completely agree. I had installed the Zumo RT 660 on my 14 ultra Classic with the 4.3. It took the dealer 3 tries to get it right.
Before I brought it to the dealer I read here about only having the 18.2 version on there and that the later versions did not work. I confirmed this same thing with the service tech guys from the customer care facility.
I then went to the dealer and told them not to upgrade the software, and gave them the instruction page from the audio input cable kit, and the options to select to have it properly function. Well the tech guys either didn't listen to my instructions or think what does he know.... I'll do it my way.
So they updated it and couldn't figure out how to get it to work. Finally they called the "mothership" and low and behold they needed to do exactly what I told them, now it works. It will interupt the radio, USB stick or music through the BT connected to my phone.
To their credit they didn't know a whole lot about it to begin with. This is all new to them & i don't think the Moco tells them about new options for this head unit. Fortunately the 8-9 hours of them working on it only cost $55
Hey, Biglew a question for you, not sure if it is the same for 6.5 vs 4.3, but you said you now have 19.1 software on there and you did not need to reflash the unit to get the option to work with the new software. Is this the case? Just don't want to have to go back and get it reflashed again, if i upgrade.
I do like the high contrast screen on the new software.
Thanks Mike

Correct. I upgraded from 1.19.0 to 1.19.1 and the AUX settings were undisturbed.
System Restores have not been so fortunate. I have lost it twice by doing that. Hopefully, I learned my lesson.
