A. Buy the manual.

B. You can install exhaust with the lowers in place.

Being INCH pounds, it is really not much, I use a 1/4 drive extension to get the top, and get the bottom from the left side.

I've had mine off and on a few times this way...

I went with fuelmoto headpipe. For some reason install instructions called for 99 inch lbs. That may have something to do with the design of FM's collars.

Many thanks for all the advice. I am familiar with the tightening sequence from installing a Pro Pipe on my Dyna. And I did end up re-torquing after the first several rides.

Added note: to my surprise when I got home yesterday the UPS truck pulled in behind me. Had no idea why he was there until he started wheeling out some Vance & Hines boxes! Now, I've been a fan of Fuel Moto for a while now, but delivered to FL, 30 hours after I placed the order??!! I'm impressed. It will be a good weekend.

Thanks again everyone.

Default Success!

Just wanted to say that I had a fairly easy time installing my new parts. Some of it was pretty tedious but the finished product was worth a few bloody knuckles and foul language. With a new tune in my PV it runs and sounds great!

Have done a couple of head pipes on my 2011 Limited and yesterday put a FM 2-1-2 on my 2015 RGU which is twin cooled. I seem to do better with some deep sockets to get to things. I always have trouble with the expansion rings on the header flanges. Also seem to have trouble with the crossover gasket. Guess it would work better if I'd go ahead and replace the clamps and use a spreader on the pipe joints. As said above a small socket with universal joints helps. For the torque just remember for a 6 inch socket handle 120 in-lbs is only about 20 lbs force at handle of socket if you cannot get a torque wrench on it so do not put your gorilla force on it.

Have not tuned it yet. Wanted to first get rid of Cat and see how it sounds. I have a set of FM Pro Touring exhaust that I'll either put on or go with the Fullsac baffle change on my existing cans.

It has a pretty loud 'bark' to it if you crack the throttle at idle and running through the gears is louder than I expected, but not unbearable. Once up to highway speeds, it is really not a lot louder than stock...until I roll on and pass someone. Overall I'm very happy with it. I like the sound of a 4" exhaust. Good tone and just enough rumble. The bigger ovals and megaphone styles are definitely lower and louder.
