Default fuelmoto headpipe finally sealed!

Excuse me, this is a little long winded. I have a 14 ultra limited 22,000 miles, wanted to improve performance and get rid of the cat, so I got the powervision, aircleaner and the steel ceramic coated $399 headpipe from fuel moto. I couldnt get the headpipe to seal with the gaskets they gave me so I called fuelmoto and they recommended new snaprings that go in the flanges as mine were slightly bent and worn. Got new snaprings and tried the screamin eagle gaskets which look similar to the ones fulemoto supplies with their headpipe and thought I had it fixed. Rode it couple hundred miles and keep noticing a spit at rear cylinder sure enough leaking again. I have access to a smoke machine, so pulled mufflers and hooked it to the headpipe and smoke is pouring out around headpipe front and rear. I then tried a new set of stock headpipe gaskets and smoke tested it again and problem solved, finally got it sealed. Had the headpipe off atleast 6 times trying to seal it with those pos thin gaskets, when i should have left the stock ones in and reused them. Love the sound, the custom map is good and nice products, but they need to come up with a better gasket to go with their $399 headpipe. and if u think ur headpipe is sealed, check it with a smoke machine u might be suprised lol.

The stock head pipe from harley is not square and flat, like the header, it is on an angle I installed the same fuel moto pipe and had to use the supplied gaskets. the oe harley gaskets I could not use. But I must say it is a bit tricky to install the header as the flanges do not want to stay up near the head. I took some zip ties to hold the flanges then put the bolt in the mount by the o2 sensors , / trans/ to hold it in place then once the head pipe was snapped in place carefully started the flange bolts with my finders and made sure it was squared up then tightened everything down. It is a bit of a pita.

I hate to ask a dumb question, but here I go. I have tailgunner slip ones with my stock head pipe. I'm not really happy with the volume of the exhaust. Will swapping out the head pipe with the fuel moto pipe make the bike louder?

When you lose the cat the mufflers are louder.

Gotcha. I am assuming all of Fuel Moto's head pipes are "cat-less"?
