Default Faulty side stand

I have a 14 Ultra. The first HD I've owned since 85 and love the bike. Yesterday I put the side stand down and the portion of the stand that sticks up to push on bent over. I pulled it back up but it wouldn't return all the way. Obviously a faulty weld. Anyone else have this happen? I will tell the dealership about it at my 1k service.

I'd stop by the dealer now, make them fix it, and do the 1000 yourself and save a few hundred rocks...

Curious - how long have you had this bike? Just noticing the stand or did something happen?

cycle7447 this happened yesterday after I came home from a ride. I called the dealership who said that they would order the part to have it on hand when I come up for my 1k service that was included with the sale of the bike. I guess from the last response I'm not the only one to experience this problem.

A friend of mine has a 14 limited that did the same thing. The first time it happened the dealer just bent it back up. Don't accept that!!!! It continued to bend all the time. They ordered another a replaced it yesterday. If you are a shorter rider you might have then replace it with the limited low jiffy stand. It had a extra upright that aids in picking it up.

Nope. They will not interchange. There's a difference in design and height. I had tested a low and noted the different stand and then asked about it for my FLHTCU.

Harley makes a Jiffy Stand Extension (Part # 50000023) That requires drilling a hole in the existing stand and bolting it on. Works well for me with a 29 inseam.

I have the extension on mine. It bends over quite easily.....I kick the base of it out instead...

But 50/50 chance at the dealership that someone there kicks the extension and bends it over....

I have to say that if the stand bends at all it is defective. Possibly there was a batch that were not hardened correctly.

The extension I mentioned is just an arm for being able to reach it and pull it back up, and even aids in putting it down. There shouldn't be any type of pressure on it to bend it.

Sorry to hear a few of you have a bendable stand. I would think your dealer would warranty it. Anyone have issues with the replacement too?
