My bars were wobbling a bit around 30 MPH, I remember a thread about this where someone had the exact same problem. If you took your hands off the bars they would go back and forth very slightly but if you put your hands back on they would stop. Well, turns out this is not "normal". While having my bike in for something completely different they noticed that they stem bearings were loose so they tightened them up and the wobble has completely gone from my bike.

Just throwing that out there as an FYI.

How many miles on your bike? Mine started at about 22k... had it adjusted at about 24,500.

 

Thanks for the heads up. Oddly enough I checked for that rolling to a stop last night. Straight as an arrow.

Too tight is bad as well.

I started the thread you mentioned. Mine wasn't the steering head bearings, though. Had 'em tightened and it helped a little bit, but it was still there. Took it in for the 5K service and they couldn't reproduce the wobble. Don't know what they did to it, but it doesn't wobble now. <shrug>

Just this one. I didn't read it from top to bottom and originally replied with a post about getting your steering head tightened up... then read that you did that already.

Harley Magic! Yep, we had almost the exact same problem but mine appears to have vanished with the adjustment of the bearings. Maybe on yours they didn't do it right the first time.

Or....maybe they replaced the air in your tires with Harley Synthetic Air.

 

With just under 2000 miles on my RGS I started to notice the same wobble around the 30-40 mph range. It wobbles and progressively gets worse as it tries to go into full tank slapper mode. It definitely is the head bearings being way too loose. I can also feel a clunk in the bars when the front end gets light when I go over a negative g whoop... Time to bring it in an have them tweak that.

 

It could also be that someone inflated the tire with metric air. Using metric air on a domestic bike could cause such a wobble and result in death or serious injury.
