Primary noise

Run the PRIMARY fluid of your choice in the PRIMARY.
There are a lot of them to choose from.
HD F+ is not bad. Neither is Drag Specialties.
I've run a bunch of them... I will venture to say at least 15 different fluids in my different primaries over the years. I've tried the snake oil, and drank the KoolAid.
My favorite so far, and I don't plan to change, is Red Line Synthetic PRIMARY fluid.

noise
I heard the noise described in the above post.dealer tol me this was normal (ya right).I remembered that the parade mode was on, after turning it off the noise went away.seems when the rear cylinder has no spark it makes that rattling sound because the rear cylinder is basically an airpump.

I recently bought a cvo road glide. I started hear a noise at 600 miles. Someone said it could be the primary chain adjustment was a little loose and to romp on it in first gear a few times. It cleared it up and haven't had the same problem since.... Now I have about 2000 miles on it and I'm hearing a different noise from the primary. The eitms is disabled. This sounds more like a rattling noise. It only does it when it gets warmed up, and at idle. At first I thought something on the exhaust had loosened up so I went back and check everything was tight. I'm guessing this is the compensator everyone talks about. I've owned 6 bikes and never had one make this noise. I tend to turn them over pretty fast and never rack up more than 20,000 miles on one. I'm thinking of trying to bump the idle up just a bit to see if that helps. Sucks riding a cvo and having to hear that crap.
