Thanks
They are covered by a two year warranty. Have Harley replace it for you.

Riding buddy had boom 2 speakers in, got the flash, one speaker blew 1/2 hr into leaving dealer, don't sound like a good product to me, but could of been a fluke

There is definitely an issue with the Boom Stage II stuff. I had it put on my bike then ultimately had it removed because it wasn't right. I talked to several people who had blown Stage II speakers shortly after install. Even one of my dealers who installed the kit on a Street Glide had a blown speaker while the bike was in the showroom.

The original 6.5" Boom speakers seem to hold up a bit better. There are certainly better speakers out there, but if the OP liked the sound it makes sense to let HD replace the speaker under warranty.

My stock speaker on tour pack of 14 limited blew almost immediately. Bought the cvo speakers using regular amp and no problems since. Inexcusable that harley doesn't put quality speakers correctly in touring bikes. So add 200 more to selling price! Better than bad reputation!

I just ordered a set of 6.5" Boom fairing speakers from Kutter for $166. Should be here any day. I hope I don't have any issues. Stock speakers were probably ok but wanted a little more bass.

I just installed the 6.5" Boom speakers into a stock HU on my 2015 RGS. The sound is cleaner. The only draw back was the volume. At 80 mph I am now at full volume. Before install I was 2-3 clicks below full volume. This now affects my speed volume control (SVC). My SVC works very well when I am not at full volume at highway speeds. When I have to increase the volume to full while riding, the volume level does not decrease enough now when I stop.

Mmmm....I've not had a chance to fully investigate that but sounds about right.

I think the best thing about the Boom 6.5's are now I can turn up the volume all the way and it sounds clearer plus I can turn the bass up several notches. Before, with stock speakers, when I turned up the volume all the way I had to turn the volume down a couple of clicks to eliminate any distortion. I think they are decent speakers for $166 shipped to my house.

Cycle sounds is the way to go. Better magnets and power. I only have the front with a pbr 300x4 but will be doing the back setup soon. They sound great.

I have had the Upgraded Boom audio with the amp and saddle bag speakers for a while now. Working perfect with no issues here. Really enjoy the rear lid speakers. Great sound even at 80 plus. It just surrounds you like in a audio bubble. I find myself constantly turning it down.

Have had the stage one speakers and amp on my limited for about a month now. No issues. Volume level set to just one notch above halfway at highway speeds. I have to turn off avc and back on when I first start bike or I need max volume on highway. Sound is outstanding. Expensive but I love it.
