What seat are you asking about, there's two Zeppelin seats one is low profile pn52000152 first year was 2013, the other is larger and has been available longer.

I've had the Road Zeppelin since 2010...first on my 2008 Ultra, then moved it to my 2014 Ultra Limited. The only difference was connecting the power directly to the battery. It definitely sets you back a little bit...I'm 6'5" and the Harley Tallboy was back far enough, just not comfy enough. The Zepp is the perfect seat. Did 1000km in one day on one of my first rides with it...only stopping for gas. Prior to that, I could ride about 45 minutes to an hour on a Tallboy before I had to stop to stretch my legs and rest my butt. Hope this helps.

Any chance you can provide a photo from the side, so I can get an idea where the driver's seat rise is in relation to the saddle bags. Or a top down view similar to this.

I found for me it pushed me forward and lifted me up a bit (guess an inch? just know I went from flat footed to toe footed )
Also the left saddlebag lid hits the seat on opening and closing.
That said I ended up much more comfortable being moved forward, and cheaper in the long run than a new set of bars.
