Default 2015 HD Touring Models - NHTSA recall campaign 15v-216 -- April 2015

Fair play to my local HD Dealer, they proactively alerted me today about this recall for my Street Glide Special (mine's a UK model) so be mindful out there.

Harley-Davidson has learned that the hydraulic clutch system equipped with master cylinder part numbers 36700056 and 36700049 on certain model year 2014 and 2015 Touring model motorcycles may exhibit a condition in which it may lose the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch after being parked for an extended period.
Model
2015 Street Glide Special
Safety Risk
If this condition remains undetected it could lead to loss of control of the vehicle when started in gear or first shifted into gear after being parked for an extended period.
REMEDY
Owners of the affected motorcycles will be asked to arrange service with an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer, who will confirm that the motorcycle is covered by this recall. If covered, the dealer will flush the clutch system withthe recommended wash solution and rebuild the clutch master cylinder using the recall kit provided. This service will be provided at no charge to the customer.....

As a matter of fact I just heard that also. My bike was in yesterday for its 1000 mle service and the service manager called me to tell me it was ready and gave me the heads up there is another NEW recall that just came out on the clutch master cylinder issue. in addition to the one that had occurred earlier and been resolved earlier. My bike was updated before I bought it(12/14). Now he said another tech bulletin just came out to have additional work done and my bike falls with in the VIN numbers impacted even tho the initial fix had been applied. He said the bulletin is so new they don't have the parts yet to do the work but would call me as soon as they could to schedule it. Wow sucks but at least they let me know as soon as they knew.

Well, that sucks!

Hasn't the MOCO been selling hydraulic clutch kits for several years, already?

Seems like they'd have it figured out by now!

Yup...just checked my VIN on the NHTSA website and you guessed it...open recall on my 14 SGS. Looks like some additional work for HD when I take it in for the 1000 mi service (sans fluids of course).

Just checked my 14 Ultra Classic on both HD and the other site mentioned...no open recall.
Mine just had the 2 earlier recalls taken care of last Oct.

Just checked and mine's got the recall too. Already had the first one done. Maybe they should replace the complete master cylinder this time? But noooooo!!!

Just checked mine and I'm in the clear. My build date was 09Mar15, so this must have been discovered before then.

Its funny because I posted a few weeks ago about a friend that bought a 2015 SG and the clutch master went out within 300 miles and I was told I was full of chit. My bike is clear. So far no issue with clutch but lost the front mc
