I had a chat today with the service manager and one of the better techs here . They said they've done 5 or 6 so far. Supposedly the problem is being caused by what ever the plunger was made out of breaking down and what ever results from that process being an issue. Hence the cleaning and soaking with alcohol and distilled water. They said it takes about an hour and a half due to the required soaking time. My clutch is working so perfectly. I'm gonna be pissed if that changes.

My Nov. 2013 built Limited not on the list either, they seem to be all over the place as to build dates, some early, some later...I wonder if it's a location thing, where certain parts were manufactured or who they were manufactured by. Strange...

I read on another thread the recall effects bikes built between April and October 2014.

Thank you, you'd think after the clutch issues/recall on the earlier built models (including that do-not-ride problem) they would have paid particular attention to the later built ones, worked a little to get at least that part of the bike perfect. Happy they're recalling for problems but kinda shakin' my head!.

What do you think the urgency is on getting the recall done? I'm riding to the beach first of next week. I have just over 2k on my 15 SGS and the clutch is feeling better than ever. I haven't check if mine is on the list but I'm guessing it is since I bought it in Oct of last year.

The Recall says " Harley-Davidson has learned that the hydraulic clutch system equipped with master cylinder part numbers 36700056 and 36700049 on certain model year 2014 and 2015 Touring model motorcycles may exhibit a condition in which it may lose the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch after being parked for an extended period." I take extended period to mean weeks or months like winter storage. If you ride it on a regular basis, it's nothing to worry about.

Mine is on the list. I'm going to the dealer first thing in the morning. They are booked up Monday and Tuesday. I'm leaving for the beach Wednesday morning so tomorrow is my only option.

Exclamation Mine's Clear . . .

https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/vinLookup cleared my VIN . . . tried it on the HD site as well . . . no issues. At first the salesman thought it was on the 2nd hydraulic clutch master cylinder recall list - but its not.

Mark!
