Default air pressure in shocks

Hi, I have a 2015 streetglide with the 12" air shocks.
I ride 2 up most of the time. What air pressure have you found for the best ride? Currently I am running with 15 lbs. Seems to be okay, a little on the stiff side. Only have 8oo miles so far. Will the shocks break in a little?

Your manual will give you an ideal. When I had my 13 classic I was running 20 solo and around 35 to 45 two up and extra gear.

Different animal but on my CVORGU I run 43psi all the time. Bit stiff for solo but fine 2 up and I don't like fooling around with pressure all the time.

Air will leak out of the shocks just like a tire over time. Good habit to check the pressure every couple of weeks or so

I run 21 solo for me, 26 during the week when I am toting office crap around, 35 if I have my daughter on the back and 48 if my wife is with me.

I have the digital pump from HD that they gave me when I bought my bike. I will soon be rid of the air shocks as I just ordered a set of Pro Street shocks and should be Wednesday or Thursday.

Proper pressure depends on the weight of the riders and gear.

I put the 12" air shocks on my '14 Ultra. Found I need more pressure then I did on the 13" stock shocks. I'm 185 (40 psi) one up, and run 45-48 psi for two up.

Default shock break in

At 250 miles on my 2014FLHTK the right side rear shock blew the oil seal and leaked oil all over my garage floor. Replaced under warranty, but could never get a comfortable ride out of them. Bought a set of progressive shocks and will never go back to Harley Air shocks. To answer your question: Yes they will break!

Like others, for the first 8000 miles I wrestled with trying to find the right pressure on the stock shocks, dealt with pressure loss with two up riding for and now I have 500 miles on my Progressive shocks and won't be keeping stock shocks ever again.
