Default 12" or 14" Yaffe Monkey Bars on my 2015 FLTRXS

I have been searching forums, looking at pictures and I am in need of some additional vice (and hopefully better pictures) to help me decide if I want to do 12" or 14" Yaffe OEM Monkey Bars on my new 2015 Road Glide Special I signed the paperwork on yesterday.

Backstory: I'm coming off a very custom Street Bob that I had 16" Roland Sands apes on. I loved the look and it was a great bar hopper, but for long ride my hands would tend to go numb and it just wasn't overly comfortable.

With this upgrade I am excited to really get out and do some long highway miles, so insuring that I am comfortable is a big factor. I am 6'2" 220 lbs and after sitting on my RGS with the bars rolled forward I knew it wasn't enough. I know stock bars are 9.25" and my close friends at the dealership are saying 12" should be fine and look slick.

After reading all these posts about people wishing they had gone bigger, it has me second guessing myself and I don't want to pay for new bars if I don't like the 12" ones.

Let me know you all. Pics would be helpful, especially if your around my height and sitting on your bike. Thanks!

I'm also 6'2" and am currently happy with the stock bars on my cvorgu. On my Limited I had yafee 12" and that set up out my hands just below shoulder height. Perfect for long trips without numbness.

Yafee bars tend to measure taller than others. 12" actually came in around 14". So I would think the 14s would end up similar to the 16s you had before.

I recommend the 12"ers.

I went 12's on my FLHXS over 14's because I was able to run the stock brake and clutch cables aswell to same me some extra $$$.. don't know if you can get away with that on a RG tho

Yaffe 14" MBB on my 14 Ultra CVO. I'm 6'1" and my hands are below my shoulders. The bars are a little taller than I expected for 14's but I'm glad I got them.

I hear Yaffe's run a little tall. Does anyone have pics of them on a Road Glide..?

Get the 14 s. The 12 s will leave you wanting a couple more inches

Thats what everyone keeps saying. I hate buying blind but I need to make the decision soon. Probably try and mock up the bars to give me an idea of how tall they will be.

call buky or check out their website. I have both buky and yaffee bars.

Buky was easier to install, they run true to size and are better made.

Yaffe bars were a pain to wire
