Just finishing up the fronts with the new amp. Real happy with the sound so far. I bought the lids with the HD speakers in the kit but later, after holding the speakers which reminded me of a transistor radio speaker, I opted for the I57-2. They said it was a drop in speaker but they are much deeper even though the holes do line up, it does not fit.

So my question is how much plastic has to be cut off to get them to fit and after cutting the plastic did the cover fit ok? Does the weight of the I57 bother the lid/hinge itself?

Any input before I start hacking away would be of help.
