I've ridden 10000 miles with a ~$15 Cell Buckle over some rough roads and RR crossings and haven't had the phone budge yet. Thanks Amazon

So I generally like the Ram mounts because I have used them for several years for different things, but I have seen mixed reviews of the X-Grip mount. For those of you using the X-Grip does it rotate, from portrait to landscape, and stay where you put it?

Everything else I've ever mounted, except my cup holder, I've used RAM products.

Absolutely love them!

Hey Chip,
I really like that config you have there. I never gave any thought to mounting to the mirrors, good thinking. Could you help me piece what component/ part numbers you used? Like you said, it looks clean.

Thanks

Check out the "techgripper" mount as well. I just installed on a 14 SG and it's perfect. I have an iPhone 5S with a battery case and it's as tight as a weld in this thing. Looks good as well.

$79 bucks and free shipping. It arrived 2 days after the order was placed.

Here is what I used, from their website. You can take their part numbers and find them less expensive elsewhere... I've collected parts and pieces over the years from different projects.

These are in order, from the mirror to the unit, I did not include my specific mount, and I believe the X-Grip comes with an arm.... I'll post it last.

Under the mirror I also used a washer between the acorn nut and this base.

First arm:

Adapter (I Plastidipped the aluminum arm):

Short arm going up to the PV2:

Here is the X-Grip, and 4" arm... You could do away with the first arm I posted above...

The Xgrip can be rotated however you like, because of the ball. SafetyMan's setup is pretty sweet, that ball mount would be unseen when the rest of the setup is removed. The handlebar ball mount is kind of big.

Thanks for spoon feeding it to me Chip

I just ordered everything up $68.19 shipped, so I saved a little bit. Sure beats the cost of HD's GPS

Thanks again Everyone
