Default Dealer Download

I bought a 2015 SGS. I am putting on CFR‘s exhaust and probably changing the intake filter to a K&N. To complete the stage 1 i am thinking of just letting the dealer do a download. I don't plane on removing the cat or changing the head pipes at this time unless it is to hot this summer. My question is, it seems the reading I've been doing on here seems that people don't go with the dealer flashing the upgrade. Am i leaving to much on the table that way? Is there that much more to gain? I think it runs pretty dang gone good stock, but i want the sound of aftermarket pipes.
Thanks in advance.

Take the money for the download and put it towards a powervision. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Ditto, call FuelMoto and get a PV and they'll preload some maps for you and anything you do down the road give them a call and they'll send you new maps. Well worth the money to get the most out of your bike IMO. Waste of $$ on the dealer flash.

Take your time and look around. Decide in advance what pipes and air cleaner etc. you want to run. Then go to the Dynojet website and check out the power vision pages. They have a list of tunes there available for download. In my case, I got a stage 1 AC and V&H slash cut rounds. One of the tunes available is for this exact combination.

Got the Power Vision on Amazon for $420 free shipping. Downloaded the tune & off & running. Dynojet will help with with custom tune issues as well.

If you feel you need added support, odd combinations of equipment, etc. etc. you may want to pay the premium & buy from Fuel Moto. They will work with you & provide custom tunes for your situation. I think they extend the warranty as well. They have a great reputation here.

As I said, plan in advance exactly what you want to do & spend from there.

Agreed. Do not waste your money on a dealer download. There are a few very good options for tuners and although the initial cost is slightly higher, you'll have a tuner to keep and use for another time when you add something else and you will need to retune for best performance.

I went a little different route: I bought the SE Pro Super Tuner & let the technicians at my dealer do the tune. But the advice would be the same: forget the canned MAP; get a tuner.

Any of y'all had warranty issues after using the tuner?
