Default Helmets N' Things....

Quick question for Rushmore Touring riders: What kind of helmet do you all wear? I wear a full-face Simpsons on highways but I tend to want half lids for around town. For those who use 3/4 jet style, full face, and similar styles, what do you do for storage or locking (like at a restaurant?) Those helmets don't fit in the side baggers (I have a FLHXS). Looking forward to your responses!!

Around town the wife and I use our 3/4 helmets. But for touring we love the modular style helmets which you can pop the front face up on.

We use the HJC IS Max 2 and find them very flexible, comfortable and safe. I also have the Bluetooth wireless Sena system installed in them so they are our go to helmets when we hit the road.

Both will fit in the tour pack but I also have helmet locks installed on the passenger crash bar.

I wear 3/4 helmets, I leave them on the seat. Did the same back when I wore $500 Shoeis.

Mine is a 1/2 so I throw it in a saddlebag. Wife wears a 3/4 so if the Tour Pak is not on, we use one of these:

My wife wears a flip face (modular) HJC Sy-Max.

I've really come to like the drop down sun shields.

DOT half helmet, one of Harley's super light half helmets. The next best thing to riding in the good old days in CA., lidless.

If I had to wear a full face I would stop riding, they feel clostofobic. IMHO

ditto..

I think I would rather just drive a convertible then wear a full face helmet.
Feels too disconnected from the ride.

I have thought about that myself, as a old, old age option. If I make it.

I have full face and 3/4's, but no matter what the bike I've always just ran the chin straps through either side of the sissy bar or through the forks and locked them together with a padlock if we leave them at the bike.
