Road Glide Vs. Street Glide
Ok guys,
Who has ridden both and what are your thoughts? I have a street glide and can't test ride a road glide till May cause of the long winters here. I do a lot of long distance rides and im just curious to know if the new road glide cuts through the wind like the old model.

I traded my 09 Ultra on a 13 RGU, always wanted one. Found out I don't like how far away the fairing is. Creats a lot of turbulence, and you have to add an ugly Madstad, and Sancho wings and so on. Ran good after I put in the 57H cam. Handled similar to my 09.
Traded my 13 RGU on a 12 CVO Street Glide and never looked back.
The road glide guys are really proud of their bikes, and put down the batwings. Each to his own.
Rent one and ride it for a day.

I've ridden both the Street and Road Glide and you might as well toss the BMW RT1200 in there as well. Here's my thoughts.
Street Glide - Super comfortable wind management with latest Rushmore fairing. The fairing makes me claustrophobic. It's just too close. Yes it works great in blocking wind and rain.
Road Glide - Ridden both Rushmore and previous generation. The new Rushmore handles better and I love how far away the fairing is from me. It's a more open feeling. Reminds me of a 70's Cadillac. Yes the wind management is a step down from the SG. OK its in the basement compared to the penthouse of the SG. But you can manage that with options. I would rather have too much air than not enough airflow during the summer as well.
I once rode the BMW from Columbia SC to Worcester MA in 15 hours. (My avg speed worked out to 64.3 mph without stopping so you can guess how fast I was going between stops for gas and meals) I bring this bike up because it has an electronic adjustable windshield that raises and lowers just like the new Indian's. I WISH the new RG came with a clean solution like that. It would be unbeatable in my book. While the BMW ate mileage it had absolutely no soul. I sold it a year later and went back to Harley.

I have rode both and picked up a Road Glide Special last week.........still smiling.
I just liked the looks of that new shark nose better......and I have been waiting for
the return of the retooled Road Glide, so I pulled the trigger on one and love the ride!
Cheer's from south central Tejas!
