Default Ultra Limited vs Ultra Classic - Is It Worth the Extra $$$?

We are considering trading our Switchback for either the Limited or Classic. Want more two up comfort and luggage space (AND cruise control). Looking for opinions and/or advise re whether the Limited is worth the extra $4000.

We've put 10,000 miles on the Switchback in the last year. Mostly longer day or two day trips.

Thanks!

IMHO it's a no brainer.....go for the limited. Nicer wheels, CB, larger infotainment screen, heated grips, painted inner fairing, and most importantly it's got the twin cooled motor. You couldn't turn a UC into a limited for the same money.

I think only you can make that decision. We really like our Limited and have no regrets

Personal experience I went thru the same thing in 2013.
So I sat down and made a list of the extras that come on the limited that did not matter to me, lower fairings, heated grips were things I did not need nor want.
Then I looked at what i would replace that comes stock on the ultra that I wanted.
In the end I purchased a Classic it was more economical for me.
Now if your talking 14 and up the decision is water cooled or not.
Decisions, decisions.
Good luck.

The liquid cooled did it for me and the larger screen on the informant system is not bad either. I love the Limited.

Coming from air cooled to my 15 Limited twin cooled and no going back just for that reason, never had heated grips didn't need them I thought, but since they were on this bike makes me think why I didn't have them 100K miles ago.

It really comes down to personal preference.
I had a 2005 Electraglide Classic. It came with Stage 1, I added cruise and that was about it.

I saw a 2014 Ultra that came with the 6.5 Infotainment system and for me that was all I really felt I wanted, the 6.5 rather than the 4.3. But I thought about it for a week.
In the end, lower fairings, painted inner fairing, the CB etc. were things I just wasn't interested in. Also I wasn't too keen on water-cooled. Just my preferences, to each their own.
What I saved on those extras, I put into saddlebag side guards and top rails, rider and passenger backrests, fold-up rider footpegs and a few other goodies the rest towards the bike itself.
The only thing I really wanted that I didn't get where laced wheels, I really like those.

Good Luck,

I won't ride with lowers down here most of the year. Too hot! Can't remove them from the Limited. Don't need a CB. Nobody will talk to me! Just get the Ultra with the 6.5 Boom Boom and security.

Either way. Enjoy!
