Amps Rockford Fosgate

Bought mine all from cycle sounds. It has been an awesome setup. I used the Fosgate PBR 300x4 so I could add the rears down the road. I got their magic box, speakers, grills and wiring. It was well worth it. If you have any problems contact Ed at cycle sounds, he knows his sound systems. just mho

Thanks Hammz.. that thread had a lot of information and made realize that upgrading my sound system is not my future.. too many problems or issues and not enough funds to overcome them. I rode for years without a radio, guess I'll just be happy with what I have. I can hear it at highway speeds, so it'll do.

I have done all the software upgrades also...no issues, everything works fine. My total cost is about $350

You don't need anything other than some longer screws to mount the speakers. You'll need to split the pods and mount them internally for clearance. I ended up installing some grills from Cycle Sounds. They are just like the Boom grills but half the price. You'll need an amp wiring kit. You don't have to use one but I bought an amp mounting kit to make my life easier on the install. You'll need either a DSP line level from Cycle Sounds or get the system flashed by the dealer. Here is the extra stuff I bought.

Question on the Ebay harness - looks like 4 wires with ring terminals and 1 inline fuse. Correct?
Do you happen to have a link to the speakers you're using? I searched out the Kappas that everyone seems to be using and I can't find any. Discontinued maybe?
Thanks again.
PS - that audio thread is highly confusing. That thread scared me off just like it did Doc Kile. This thread has paired it down and renewed my interest. Frankly I think that thread is to be avoided by a newby audiophile such as myself.

Yea.. by no means am I an audio expert, but I did change a few head units, speakers and added a few amps to my cars as a teenager.. but the challenges that I read about on the audio thread made me realize I don't know much of nothing on audio systems now a days. Barrygreen thanks for the advice I might consider it once I let me brain settle down from audio information overload! LOL

So it seems like I need the following items -
amp -
Magic Box - http://www.cyclesounds.com/dsp-line-...ox-harley.html
Grills - http://www.cyclesounds.com/metal-spe...15-harley.html
speakers -
would these be good? -
or spend a little more for -
I can do the wiring and mounting no problem so that would save me $60.
Again - I appreciate everyone's willingness to share info on this topic.

I recommend the Infinity Kappas over the kickers... I really like mine with that amp. Or take your chances with the Polk MM651's

Yes. That price isn't bad either. The price of these has gone up the last few months, probably due to their popularity. I paid $110 last June.
Sonic has them for the same as Crutchfield http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...pa-62.11I.html

Unfortunately they don't indicate whether or not they're in stock. I'll call Monday.
Are you using the Magic Box?
Overall you're happy with the improvements you made?
Thanks for the help. Go Badgers!
