I installed one yesterday with Infinity Kappa 62.11i speakers. For $250 total, you can't beat it. Very happy with the sound. Plenty loud.
I did the very same set up as you did for my 2015 Road Glide Special and it sounds awesome. I am very happy with it. Later I might also add the saddlebag lids or the lowers with speakers. I am still debating on that.
How many speakers are they doing on your bike , what did they charge for the whole deal? In My Opinion I since I already bought the boom 1 speakers I am going to save some money and just buy an affordable amp.
I did 4 speakers...the fairing and Tour-Pak. Since I have a CVO I already had one of the amps. The second amp and all four speakers ran just over $1,300. I spent $365 in labor having everything installed. It sounds great, but I think the performance could be matched for less. I think it would take quite a bit of money to sound much better though.
I also installed the PBR300x4 with the Cycle Sounds front speakers with the magic box. Very easy install and Ed over at cycle sounds was great to talk to and really knows what he is talking about. It sounds better than the 1000 dollar systems I have parked next too.

You know , you are kinda right , you know that old saying you get what you pay for. I am not saying that the harley system is the best or the worst, but I heard the boom 2 and it does sound good, also you can get a good system for a lot less. Anyway I am glad you was able to do it and I hope you enjoy your system.

Any difficulty with installation? I have the same bike and have read of problem with the speaker covers after installing new speakers? Also read that hard to install amp because of limited room. What's your take?
Not to hijack the thread but who has a 15 rg that has a two speaker system that has kept their budget under 600. What did u put in and is it plug and play?

I did not have any issues during the installation and to answer your question about the speaker grills all you have you do is adjust by turning the tweeters in a position to avoid any touching between the tweeters and the grills.
Two problems can arise with the stock grills, the tweeter hits or the surround that supports the speaker cone hits depending on the speaker you may have no issues at all.
