Default 2014 Street Glide with new Gloss black trim ring with haymaker headlamp

Can someone tell me if I am supposed to have a large gap at the bottom of ring after slipping on the new gloss black trim ring Part Number 61400294
that goes over the stock ring, it just doesn't look right on my 2014 Street Glide with HD LED Daymaker headlamp. Am I supposed to remove batwing to install but does not say to in instructions just says to slip over existing trim ring.

I don't know about the 14's, but I put trim rings on my dad's '12 ultra classic with the daymaker and the gap at the bottom was pretty large. Larger than I would like for a clean look anyway. I'm guessing its basically the same ring and same problem.

It's the gap where the two ends meet where screw and nut secure ring together at bottom seems the gap is excessive.

About an 1/8" gap, yeah it's normal. (This drives me nuts) I've tried about 8 times to draw it tight with no luck.

What I ended up doing was leaving the bolt (bottom center) of the light loose. Tighten the trim ring, once tight grab #1 or #2 Phillips and you can slid it through the spacing of the trim ring and tighten the light.

you have it on right....i have the same one with a daymaker on my 15 street glide special...it looks the same....that gap is so you can tighten the inner ring after. you dont have to touch the fairing...

I never touched inner ring what I did was remove nut and screw from new ring slipped over the old ring on bike and attached nut and screw and tightened the gap is what I have after install.
So this is correct?
