I'm not real aggressive. Basically just comparing to my last 3 Ultras on which I averaged 40mpg over the course of 170k miles. So far on this '15 Limited first 1000 miles I'm averaging 36. Hoping it gets better.

Okay, now have 1400 miles and the 1k mile service done at 1088 miles. Gas mileage still no better than 35-36mpg. As I stated earlier I've put over 170k miles on 3 other Ultras doing all kinds of riding and averaged 40mpg. Bikes were all completely stock since I'm more into just riding and sightseeing than performance. I'm really curious as to why the mileage on this '15 Limited Low is so lousy. Not doing anything different than I've done the last 10 years as to riding style.

I was wondering the same thing. My 2015 limited really sucks on fuel mileage. I'm getting about 26 miles per gallon but only have about 500 miles so far. Living in Buffalo, NY limits the riding season. My built up softail gets 42 mph religiously. My shovelhead gets 38. I am not impressed so far with this bike but, I'm sure the mpg will get better as it breaks in.

I've had my '14 almost a year and I'm still not impressed. It may very well go away for a '16 Ultra.

I'm in the Atlanta area and don't know if winter gas here is any different than the rest of the year. Guess I need to research that.

Thanks.

So, I did some reading on winter fuel blend and it seems that they can reduce mileage from 2to8%. Might be part of my problem.

Another thing besides just winter gas that affects mileage, is corn fuel. See if you can get some pure gas. That should get you another 2-4 MPH. you can get the app or go to the website of puregas.org and find stations in your area that don't have corn in the fuel.
I know I get around 3MPH better on mine.

For what it's worth, I was in the mid to high 30's when new, and now get low to mid 40's on mine. On two lane 55-60MPH roads I have gotten up to 46.

In town, I am mid to upper 30s

Yup! My mileage goes way up (42 or better) when I drive it like a geezer. But I like to twist the throttle and I am doing really good when I average 34-35 MPG. I monitor fuel mileage but only for informational purposes. It really doesn't matter to me what it is so long as it stays consistant
