The next stop was Lowes. Ever since, I have had one or 2 in the tourpak.

It was definitely the battery. I replaced it this afternoon and everything's back to normal.
The only thing I can think of is that when the manual notes putting the fob next to a computer monitor will drain it quickly, they mean it! I had left mine sitting on the dresser below the hotel TV for just 2 days.
Luckily I had created a new security code before leaving home so I was not stranded in any way. Just a little delayed in starting.

When I picked up my Limited the dealer recommended replacing the battery at the beginning of every riding season. Seems a bit over the top to replace after 6 mos, but for a couple bucks it's better than getting stuck.
My buddy’s battery died on a trip last summer after 1.5 years. Fortunately we trade spare keys when on trips and his spare was good. He doesn't keep his code with him, but after that incident I was sure to put mine in my wallet when I got the Limited.

I remember it happening, but honestly couldn't tell you where...
I wish I could remember every minute of every ride we took!
DAMN we had some good times....
