Default ++ Twin Cooled 103/110 Motors ++

I really happy with the power that my 2014 103 motor has, with just an exhaust, an AC and a FP3. It's no drag bike, but it still does okay in my book.

I just noticed this weeding through the HD Specs. The 2014/2015 Twin Cooled 103 motor now has 10:1 Compression, while the Twin Cooled CVO 110 motor still has 9.2:1 Compression, like the 103 used to. I wonder why HD didn't bump up the Compression on the Twin Cooled 110 motor, like they did on the 103 in 2014?

Thoughts?

I believe they are trying to keep it easy starting with the 255 cams. Time for new cams with the 110".
Early intake close creates great compression pressure, to bad it runs out early? or is it. Ok for touring bikes or is it for EPA?

You could be right, buy maybe it's time for them to step up their game on the 110. I like the 255's, had them in my 2012 103, but I think it's time for a cam upgrade, and a boost in the compression on the 110 too.

Your 103 would really like the Andrews 57 cam, that bump up in the compression with the 57 will make it come to life with a good tune.

Where do you feel the most improvement, I would like to get a bump about 2700 and up. Right new I have everything up to a cam.

That's where I feel it at, actually about 2450 rpms it comes on good but will pull hard on down if need be.

For those that know, would it be a good idea to install the SE cam plate and S&S Lifters while installing a new cam in a twin cooled 103?

I would rather spend on performance and durability upgrades than buying a extended service policy.

Lifters yes, cam plate no need, if you're going to keep it a while it's a good idea to replace inner cam bearings.

I spent the money on the extended service plan. I think it runs good enough with just the bolt on stuff, but would like to know how it works out for you.
