Where to mount GoPro?
#61
Hey all, I haven't been on in a while, when last here on this thread, I talked about the "wizmount".....Well, I got it for Christmas from the Kids and just used it on Vaca.....Attached is a clip of me and my wife riding "Tail of the Dragon". The GoPro is mounted in the Wizmount, which is mounted to my 36" Sissy bar. For all that "Stick", not alot of Vibration in my opinion and the Field of view is great..... Hope you all enjoy the clip.

More pics
[QUOTE=Bill10256;13612521]Just noticed this thread. I have a Drift HD 1080P camera and I just mounted it to the right side passing light arm turn signal bolt. I used a Drift camera mount that I bought a couple of years ago. The mount use to clamp and hold like a vice using a large screw with padded plate. I cut one side of the mount vice plates off, drilled out the mount screw threads and replaced the 5/16th bolt to the turn signal with a longer 3" bolt. I also added lock washers and a put a larger nut below the base (can't see it in the pics) to raise the mount plate up and away from the chrome passing light arm. The turn signal bolt is on a slight up turn on the passing lamp arm so I had to raise the mount up a little with the nut so it wouldn't cut into the arm.
I also plugged in a USB charger from the 12V outlet (Cig Lighter). I should only have to open up the camera now to put a new memory card in.
I just put this on today. I'll upload a video soon. This feels pretty solid so I hope the vibration is minimal.
Here are the pics...
Like the way you mounted your camera to the auxiliary light. I have a 2016 Ultra Limited and was thinking of mounting it the same way. Is there any way you could show more pics with detail. Thanks

Guys, with all the mounts go-pro makes I would think your best bet would be go directly to the go-pro site. I think that the helmet itself is one of the best spots to put a cam mount. This way the Cam captures exactly what you see. Well, at least that's where I like it. Might also check out an outdoor adventure store or off road vehicle store. By me we have XTREME MACHINES....... Dirt bikes, quads, snowmobile's and road bikes and they also carry go pro's with all the different mounts.
I'm sure these are very obvious things I pointed out but I know for me, sometimes it's the obvious things that I overlook.
Good luck

I think helmet mounted cams make nauseating videos to watch. At least the way I ride and am constantly turning my head to check traffic. I stopped mounting my cameras on my head. I use a Ram mount on the clutch side.
