That would work for me if the far end of the cable was a pigtail. I don't want the USB connector. The mount is semi-permanent, and the cable carefully routed and cable tied.

The power is USB, but there are several options to hard wire it.

Not to RE-jack this thread...

For those that are still concerned, I figured mine out long ago, but I still like to see what others are doing.

I have 8 options while on the bike right now, for different perspectives... all are used in the video below...

I have 3 batteries, and keep 2 on the USB charger plugged into the cigar plug in the tourpak. I found my remote dies long before the camera, so I put a USB hub under the fairing (I need to get pics) and run a USB to the left handlebar where I mounted my GoPro remote under my PV2.

I have no video to share right now, but I've used the Jaws clamp... with the gopro connected directly to it, without the goose neck, on the handlebar and came up with a very steady video. None of the shake and vibration that occurred when in the same spot WITH the goose neck. It clamps SOLID to the bar and could be used on any similarly sized bar anywhere on the bike.
*PLUS, the clamp makes for easy removal (easy-ish depending on where it's clamped) for switching places or grabbing it to hand off to a passenger.

I used 1 inch wide 1/8 thick steel bar 6 inch long, replaced the bolt on right lower fairing with longer one bend the bar so it don't touch fairing weld plate on top same size as the mount that came with gopro, bolt in bottom, 2 way tape at top between bar and fairing.

Hey all, I haven't been on in a while, when last here on this thread, I talked about the "wizmount".....Well, I got it for Christmas from the Kids and just used it on Vaca.....Attached is a clip of me and my wife riding "Tail of the Dragon". The GoPro is mounted in the Wizmount, which is mounted to my 36" Sissy bar. For all that "Stick", not alot of Vibration in my opinion and the Field of view is great..... Hope you all enjoy the clip.
