I use the pig also. I put a bunch of paper towels under it close to the filter. Should any oil escape the towels soak it up before it gets over everything.

I use a piece of card board from garbage or aluminum foil and toss it away.

Can't see paying $20.00 for a piece of plastic.

I use a 2 liter diet coke bottle. Cut it to fit with a utility knife. Free and lasts forever.

I've tried all the different devices but still get oil all over the engine, frame and floor.
I found this on line and it took about 30 minutes to install.

The adapter goes on where the filter use to mount and can be used with the aftermarket oil cooler.

One would think that after making motorcycles for over 100 years HD would have a better way to access an oil filter to change it easily. Oh, that's what dealers are for!!!

I cut a kids plastic plate mat in half(lengthwise), fold it into a U-shaped slide, slide it far under the oil filter, take the filter off and let the oil drain down the "slide" and into the pan. Works great. When not in use, I keep rubber bands around the place mat to maintain the U-shape. Despite what I use, the OP's recommendation seems like a pretty good alternative.
