Speakers Question
I have a streetglide and was thinking of getting the saddle bag speakers. I was wondering if it is worth the upgrade since the speakers are behind you and when you are moving down the highway you probably will mostly hear the front speakers. So can you hear the rear speakers cruising down the road ?
Anyone who has done this or people with ultra's can you hear speakers what do you say?

Everyone here states they can hear the bag-mounted speakers, so no doubt about that. My only concern would be that, what is a 'good' sound level for one person might be too loud (or not loud enough) for another person. Certainly there's volume controls and amps to compensate for sound levels. Still…I recommend renting a bike (or borrowing one if you can) outfitted with the bag-mounted speakers and see how they work for you.
I just purchased lowers/speakers based on reports (this site) that the rear-mounted speakers weren't 'loud enough' when rolling 70+MPH down the road. (You can CERTAINLY hear them when the bike is stationary). It seems the reports are mixed, so I recommend finding out for yourself. That said, if you carry a passenger much/most of the time, with them seated right next to the speakers you'd have to think there'd be no issue with the speakers being loud and clear in that situation.
I'd be interested if you go this route in hearing your feedback. I'm still thinking about bag-speakers and a rear amp. Please post your results.

I also have an Ultra. Without the wife on I can really tell a difference with the rear speakers. When she's riding, her legs cover them a bit and I can't easily tell they're going (from the sound).
Merely speculation on my part, but stands to reason that wouldn't be a issue with bag mounted speakers.
