Lookin for Sound\Performance 14 SGS
Currently have V & H twin slash round slip ons. Next step will be head pipes, asking for advice, Dresser Duals or Power Duals. Currently not as loud as I would like. My 08 FLSTC was noticeably louder with V & H longshots. Would like opinion as to which would deliver both deeper growl and more power.
A.C. and tune to follow this. Thanx.

power duals will get your volume up over stock headpipe while not killing your bottom end torque. dresser duals will probably get you the most volume but your bottom end torque will suffer.
I just installed the s&s power tune duals head pipe with big city thunder monster baffles in the headpipe to try to combat any torque loss and put the Cary Faas Racing 4 1/2" mufflers on the ends. Huge difference in sound, big deep rumble, reminds me of an old big block, low end power is good too. Not obnoxiously loud at idle but when you twist the wrist, there is no doubt about the sound it makes. I also put on the v&h fp3 and a base map, working on the auto tune now to tweak things in but so far I love it!
if you want a lot more sound then you may need to consider different mufflers. from what i've seen, anything in a 3.5" diameter muffler seems to be a little more hot rod-ish/raw engine sound, anything in the 4" diameter and up seems to be a deeper, not quite as loud sound. you can only get so much info from watching videos that were shot with a crappy camera and crappy microphone, best bet unfortunately is to try and find people around you with different setups and check them out.
