Pros -
They do a great job - imo as good or better than hard lowers.
They don't interfere with my extended pedals.
I can take them off whenever I want easily.
I actually like the way they look - old school. On my bike that works.
Cheap - $85
Cons -
Honestly, I can't think of one.

DITTO: Luv mine. easy on and off. Protects great.

Not ! If you measure the frontal opening on the soft lowers vs the hard, it is identical. The movable vent door on the hard lowers is there to cool the riders legs, not the engine.

I just want to make clear that my preference for soft lowers means they are the best - for me. I have certain needs that they fit. I had a bike with hard lowers, and there were things about them I didn't like. I was skeptical that soft lowers would be the way to go and I held off buying them for a while. When I did, I couldn't have been more pleased. They were perfect for my needs.
Two more pros I didn't mention - I find the bike much easier to clean w/o lowers. I like putting my feet/legs on top of the crash bars sometimes on long tips to stretch and the soft lowers don't interfere with that.
That said, for many, many people, hard lowers are a great way to go. In cold weather lowers of any kind do a great job and, imo, are essential.
