I'm thinking about cutting a hole in the padding (styro-foam ?) underneath the removable cheek-pad. That pad is about the same thickness as the speaker, so would end up about flush, and probably help quite a bit.
Anyone done this .......... and regretted doing it ?
Another vote got Shoei Helmets. Ear pockets are actually where your ears are (trust me not all helmets are like this) and no modifications to the Helmet are needed for a perfect fit: Speakers and Microphone!
kkinderen I agree 100% on the Harley modular helmet. Noisiest thing I have ever worn. Get the same feedback from almost everyone. Would not recommend it.
The Harley (HJC) modular helmet has cutouts for the earpieces but I'm not really recommending the helmet. There is not a lot of room at the chin guard for the mic and the helmet seems quite noisy to me. Not sure if that's the general consensus.
I agree with you there...the Harley (HJC) modular is a very noisy helmet especially closing top vent and yes hard to place mic at chin area. I'm looking also for replacement helmets for myself wife and daughter. they have done there time well.

Well, after about 30 minutes of cutting and carving with my trusty pocket knife, I think I've solved the problem. I removed just enough for a recessed fit (the hole is not as big as the entire speaker diameter itself) - this kept more of the styrofoam intact, yet still allows for a comfortable fit.
