Default Upgraded Amp and Speakers on FLHTK

I purchased a 2015 FLHTK and am having my four speakers upgraded to the 75 watt ones and my amp upgraded to the 300 watt that the CVO's have. The master technician at the dealership is doing the upgrade. I know and trust his work and I didn't want to try anything electrical on my new machine.

Has anyone else done this upgrade and are you happy with it?

I ran stock on my 2014 FLHTK for about two months or so. I then added just the 6.5" upgraded speakers without any amp. It made a nice improvement in sound quality and I was content.

As it hit Fall and it got windier out it felt like more power was needed to overcome mother nature at round 70-80mph. Previously I had zero issues at 80+ but something about that wind reverberation seemed to kill volume at the top end.

This past weekend I installed the Boom amp. Holy crap did it blow me away when I turned it on. In fairness I have not gotten to the dealer yet to have the flash done to flatten the EQ. As it stands right now I can't take it past halfway in my garage without it hurting. It does distort after halfway but I expected that to occur until the flash was done. Though it could be used as is if you didn't take it one notch past half.

I took a quick ride and had no problems at any speed with plenty of volume left to use. I'm hoping the flash doesn't take out too much volume but I won't know that for a few weeks as the weather is taking a major nosedive for the next week or more.

I know the audio guys are not big fans of the Boom stuff (I get it...) but this amp boost gave me exactly what I'd been looking for - just a bit more top end volume with room to spare for all situations.

Enjoy.

Listened to the stock setup during a test ride on the '14 LTD. i was not that impressed.
When I ordered my my bike I had the Boom upgrade installed before delivery.
6.5 speakers and amp made a big difference when cruising highway speeds, even when wearing FF helmet. I like the upgraded speaker grills as well.

Default HOG Tunes

At Biketoberfest I added the 200 Watt Amp and 4 Hog Tune speakers to my 2014 FLHTK came as a package kit, and they installed no charge. Best 699.00 I have spent what a difference all the way around low, mid, and top end 90Mph sounds like 50Mph

Good investment....

I'm considering the same set up on my limited. Did anyone have Harley do the install? How much do they charge?

If I recall it was a 3 to 4 hour rate. It is a beotch to remove the fairing speakers with the new fairing. I once tried to remove the big white housing around the right speaker when installing my garage remote- I eventually gave up- my tool wasn't long enough

Terry the TrollKiller (Administrator) had that all put in his '15 RGS. Maybe he will chime in here.

Mine is currently in the Shop having the exact same thing done. All 4 speakers, and the 300 watt Amp...... My buddy had it done, and it blew me away........
