Default Is there an advantage to having a tinted windshield?

I'm getting ready to order a new LRS Ultra Elite windshield while they are offering the 60% discount for Veterans day. Trying to decide between a clear like I have now or a light or medium tint. Is there any advantage to the tinted or is it just for looks? I currently have the 11" Ultra and look just over it. It has some lite swirl marks from cleaning so I decided to order another 11" but get the elite this time. Trying to decide if I should get a tint or not.

I just ordered a 9 inch ultra from LRS. I ordered this in clear to replace a 9 inch light tint. My problem with the light tint was when I went from looking over the shield to looking through the tint my eyes didn't adjust fast enough to see things such as road hazards. This may just be my problem but thought I would present my experience.

I am happy with LRS products and would highly recommend. I would also like to thank LRS for honoring veterans.

I replaced my RK screen with a Clearview that is light tint. I've had no problem seeing through it and it has really cut the glare from the sun hitting the headlight nacelle which is very welcome.
I think a lot of people are different with this. I just had cataracts on both eyes and now removed, before surgery they made a lot of stuff in dim light difficult. A lot of reasons it could be different I guess.

The light tint looks good with Charcoal Pearl.

Light tint is better if you get caught out after dark. Clear is best if you do a lot of night riding. The dark tint's nice in bright sunlight, when you get that shiny pavement glare in the eyes. But riding an 11 full tint after dark would be no fun at all. LRS is the best and the Ultra resists scratches very well.

Tint is just for looks....

We all like to see something different. I like my bike with a dark shield.... you may like yours with a clear.

No worries, party on Garth!

I have never looked through my dark tint 10"

I don't get where guys are looking for hazards through their windshields, if it's in that last 4 feet in front of you, it's too late.

I bought a dark tint and since I prefer a taller shield, I had a hard time not thinking about the distraction of the light to dark difference in my field of vision. Never tried the medium so I can't say. Went back to clear.

I decided to stick with clear. I ordered another 11" but got the ultra elite this time.

If you have to tuck in behind the shield in heavy rain, tint will make it that much harder to see. Been there and done that. Clear for me now.

I concur. Tint is for looks. I don't ever look thru my shield unless I'm ducked behind it to get out of the unexpected pop up summer rainstorm.
