Boom Box Software Update, Please Help!
OK, I'm not a computer genius, but I'm no idiot either. However, I'm feeling like one now. So, I go to the HD software download website, and follow the instructions EXACTLY to download Ver. 1.18.2. However, after I download it and try to "copy the file within the zipped folder to the root directory" I get "Roxio Creator Starter" or some BS like that. Thinking it's part of HD's process, I register with ROXIO and all that additional BS. Now, this "Roxio" POS will only let me "burn a copy to a disk." I have no option for copy the file to a flash drive. I don't see an option for unzipping the file. I tried downloading from Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer. All I get is Roxio. I want to throw my computer through the window.

Hmm. Can't you go to control panel-->programs and features, and uninstall Roxio (tho it shouldn't matter), then insert the thumb drive, open file explorer, open the thumb drive, and click and drag the iso file?
Also, I think you need to click and drag the downloaded zip file to your desktop first

If it keeps trying to force you to use Roxio right click and select open with and choose windows explorer. If open with is not available then hold down the left shift key and then right click and it should be there. Once you have the folder opened in Explorer you should be able to select the file and copy or drag and drop to thumb drive

Windows how to
- Open the folder you unzipped
- Right click the file that ends with .iso
- Left click on the send to option (about halfway down)
- Hover over/select the thumb drive (often labeled as Removable Disk (D - but could be a different label)
- Click on the highlighted removable disk - a dialog should start and the file copy to the thumb drive
If you are left clicking (and many people auto double click) you are activating the preference selection of the program designated to open the file of type .iso. Using the above method you are not selecting the file and by extension Roxio.
Good luck!
