I know the FM shorty doesn't work as well. The CB shorty does have a much better SWR so it should work better when using the CB radio. So the CB shorty is more efficient.
Shorty CB antenna is great. Have also read it works much better than stock, and so far it appears to have great range. I haven't noticed a difference between stock and shorty FM. I think they look nicer anyway.
I don't listen to the radio as much as I do CDs and my iphone so I wasn't concerned with how well it worked, so I bought and installed the Kury Short Chrome Antenna and it picks up the radio stations I listen to just fine.
The radio station I listen to the most is about 50 miles away and it picks up just fine.
They work fine on my bike, look much better. I would buy them again.
If you do install them, put a drop of the removable LocTight ( not sure of spelling ), on the antenna threads. My parts guy told me that the antennas have a history of vibrating loose and falling off.
Before I purchase, just wondering how anyone's experience with the shorter antennas has been and if they are efficient or not. Thanks.
I don't have a CB. I bought my shorty antenna from www.eglidegoodies.com and it works better than the whip antenna the Electra Glide Ultra came with. I got the fatty short antenna. Love it.
Better reception through the mountains of Colorado.
and I second the LocTite on the threads. They will vibrate loose. They absolutely will and do.

Had "rubber duck" shorties on my '01 UC, worked pretty well - did shorten FM range, but it was clear when it was there (if that makes any sense)...
Have the HD shorties on my '14 Limited - they work as well as the factory ones did and look much better. No complaints on FM or CB and I haven't noticed any loss of range.
