As I have said before, these bikes need a tuner even in stock form. Do anything at all and you have made a lean situation even leaner.

Did Fuel Moto come up with a tune you are happy with or did you have to tweak it?

I tweaked it but would be happy with the one they sent as it was little difference.

Removing the cat reduces the heat and raises the sound levels, I get that, but some riders claim that it also increases torque.

Is this true?

This combination works FANTASTIC on my Evo. The Evo's run best with stock mufflers.

Well he never posted after initial post, so wonder what he did. Looking back I wish I had removed the cat first, before any other mods. I, like the OP, wanted "just a little more" volume to the noise. SE Slip ons were good, until I de-catted the bike. Then was louder than I wanted. The cat was very restrictive.

Here's my "incognito" Stage 1 airbox that I made, Works great!!

This bike is "slightly" modified from it's original confirguration.

4-5/8" stroker flywheel assembly, head work, mild cam, stock pushrods, stock CV40 carburetor, twin cam gear set with trap door and shift pawl, running STOCK mufflers and race gas

I love smoking Twin Cams etc...

"It's just a stock Evo" (sleeper).
