Default FM Air Cleaner vs. Screaming Eagle Stage One

I bought the FM high flow when I purchased the PV2. I am happy with it but I have a legit question. Last night I freed another 14 from emissions jail and my buddy had bought the SE high flow from the dealer. After doing the pipe we installed the SE and I have to say I was impressed. You get a complete open space on the whole perimeter to the stock cover. I am curious if anyone has checked one from the other to see if they perform the same? I know FM sells a lot of the theirs but the price buying it outright is about the same as the SE? It just looked like it would allow a lot more air through the engine. Just wondering. Maybe someone from FM can chime in?

I have put two SE AC setups on my last two Harleys, and they feed more air than the engine
can use. The Fuel Moto has the air slots on the back side of the AC backing plate, where
it draws the air in. I am not sure if it draws cool air in from the slipstream, or warm air
in off the side of cylinders. When the Rushmores came out I did read that the new AC draws
in 7% to 10% more air then the old football AC. Both air cleaners are open to the backside,
so I would get the one you like the looks of. It can't hurt the Bike one way or the other.

A ton of R&D goes into each and every part we offer including our Fuel Moto Pro Billet Air cleaners. As far as the 14-15 Rushmore unit it has a backing plate that supports the cover which is much heaver than earlier models, the unit breathes thru the vent in the cover as well as two oval areas that are machined in the backing plate. This was our final design based on performance, intake air temp and other parameters. This design flows really well overall, it will support approx 115Hp which is in the same area as our other FM Pro Billet models with completely open backing plates. It is also important to note that our AC kits include a lifetime warranty on every component in the kit.
