The pressures on the tire itself is for maximum load for the tire rating. The recommended pressure by HD is on the left downtube of the frame. Probably in the manual also.

I ran 36 & 40 on my SGS (recommended). Traded at 18,000 miles with 4/32" frt and 5/32" rear. The OEM Flops wore like they were made of steel but handled well! I was surprised....

Good point, I don't think I am a MAX load.

When in doubt or if you can't remember, recommended tire pressure is listed on the plate on the left side of the steering neck.

In the manual for my SGS says 36/40 so that is what I roll with.

I run my tires at the Max on the sidewall. I ride 85% 2-up.

On most bikes I run what the manual lists for 1-up, maybe 1-2 pounds lower. I only ride solo and run 2 under 34/38 on my RK. 33/37 would likely give better handling and ride, plus not wear the center of the rear out so much.

I was running 40/36 per the manual and when I took it in for the 1000K the dealer recommended running 38 on the front tire if riding a lot of 2-up (which I do), so that's what I'm running now.

I have a 2014 Limited. I run 38 rear and 36 front when I'm riding solo. When I have the wife on the back I run the rear tire up to 40 and leave the front at 36. It's just what feels right to me.

I ride solo only 180 lbs on a King, I run 37 35 I must like odd numbers. At 9000 miles my tires have a lot left.

36 and 40, as stated above, not something to adjust very much.

Also if i got serviced and they put in 45 in the front and rear, they'd be adjusting the pressure to the book.
