Radio stays on

I'm with hojones, in spirit. The new Infotainment Boom! Box radios have a number of quirks/bugs.
I would write down everything the radio does that you think it shouldn't, then submit a copy of that to the dealer, telling them these are the things you expect to be fixed under warranty. Of course the dealer can probably not do anything immediately, it being software issues (software releases are not in their control) in a lot of cases. However, at least you'll be on-record with a complaint.
The wrong thing for any of us to do is to shrug our shoulders and tell ourselves "that's just the way it is, I guess." HD needs to fix our Rushmore Infotainment issues. And we first need to bring the issues to their attention in a way that is not vague.

I had two new issues with my radio after two months of ownership. I did have problem of it coming on since new, but the other day, I lost control of the volume control. Later that night I lost all functions of the radio. Could not even turn it off using the radio buttons. Had to cycle the ignition switch on/off three times before the thing would operate again. Next morning I called HD customer service, left them my VIN and my complaint. They made it sound like they want to know the problems and forward radio complaints to a special committee. So I recommend every one who has a problem call customer service! 800-258-2464 or 414-343-4056 we can not let them think this is acceptable!....John

That is a function of the radio. See page 34 of the boom manual
Turning off motorcycle: If turning off the motorcycle while in an active phone call, the radio will prompt to transfer the call back to the phone. If the prompt is not accepted, the radio will continue to support the call for approximately five minutes before automatically transferring the call back to the phone
and shutting down. See PHONE, Resuming Calls After Vehicle Shutdown.
