More comfortable?
2" made a huge difference for me-the ride is comfortable now but I may be adding mini floorboards, too. Even at that, some prefer mid controls and I'm still getting used to forwards.

I could reach the stock location fine while cruising. If I gave the throttle a quick twist and slid back on the seat a little though, I would fined myself reaching for the forwards. Now everything is fine with that extra 1 1/4" and my knees have a nice bend in them.

Are there any brackets for moving the controls further forward? I'm 6' 3" and even with forward controls my legs are pretty much bent 90 degrees.

Those are even more common. Look in J&P Cycles catalog to mention one source with many options.

made my own, got a little over 1" up and just short of 2" back. cost was $9.00 for a 1/4" steel plate and about $4 in bolts; also used a piece of 7/8" steel pipe I had to make a sleeve for the brake rod. I had to relieve the shifter levers. Fit was perfect for me and about 2 hours of time. Easy project, just make sure to check your clearances!
