With the life and history of Evel Knievel getting ready to once again hit the big screen with the documentary, Being Knievel, everything the man touched or had his livery painted on has begun to soar in value. With that, Profiles in History, an auction company specializing in celebrity memorabilia, are getting ready to sell one of Knievel’s craziest motorcycles, a 1978 Harley-Davidson XLCH 1000 Eagle “Stratocycle” once used in ‘Viva Knievel.

According to the auction company, the Harley-Davidson XLCH in question was a custom bike done up specifically for the movie, and features a fiberglass fairing, integral wings, a custom exhaust, and the signature red, white and blue eagle-motif Knievel was known for.

Profiles in History also state that the motorcycle “comes with the original documentations, such as the first California registration card, and the original invoice from Harley-Davidson Motor Co. on August 8th, 1978 to Rich Budlelier Company, the Los Angeles Harley Dealership, which provided the motorcycles for the film.”

The auction house states that since the motorcycle had screen time, the bike should sell for around $200,000-$300,000. While Evel Knievel is an American icon, he’s no Steve McQueen and that price is definitely around the Steve McQueen motorcycle price tag. What do you all think though?
