What Makes the CVO Road Glide So Good?
Harley’s high-end tourer packs a ton of power and performance, but it comes at a price.
If you’re looking for the ultimate in cruiser comfort and performance, it’s got to be the 2019 Harley-Davidson FLTRXSE CVO Road Glide. The CVO Road Glide comes out to $42,339 — that’s more than a brand-new Ford Mustang GT.
So, what makes the CVO Road Glide so good? What does $42,339 buy you? In short, it gets you one of the most advanced high-performance touring motorcycles available today.
This particular example, found on CycleTrader at Crow River Harley-Davidson in Delano, Minnesota, has it all. We really dig the two-tone grey and silver paint with the iconic “#1” motif, and the bike is loaded up with almost every chrome option, right from the factory.
The CVO Road Glide is more than just a pretty face – after all, it had better be for the price, right? For starters, the bike includes an attractive shark-nose fairing, loaded up with a full complement of instrumentation and the Boom! Box GTS infotainment system.
This state-of-the-art system incorporates audio, GPS navigation, and Bluetooth communication options on a bright, responsive touchscreen display. The Boom! Box GTS system also interfaces with the included wireless headset module.
You might expect this loaded-up fairing to make for a heavy front end, but fear not – that fairing is mounted to the frame. This leaves the dual bending valve front forks free to handle the bike with relative ease. Out back, emulsion-type rear shocks with adjustable preload should make for good handling with a comfortable ride.
Of course, the real story is between the frame rails: the mighty Milwaukee Eight. This 117 cubic inch powerplant produces an impressive 125 lb/ft of torque. That’s more than enough to handle you, a passenger, your luggage, and whatever adventures you might get yourself into.
We’re stating the obvious when we say that this all comes at a price. The CVO Road Glide is, after all, one of the most expensive motorcycles on sale right now. However, if you plan on spending long hours in the saddle exploring America, we can’t think of a cooler way to do it.
