Looking for another museum-quality, road-ready Harley-Davidson? Here is a brilliant black 1948 UL that should be in your sights. RK Motors mentions it’s recent full renovation was focused around utilizing era-proper authentic new-old-stock parts and accessories.

What a beauty she is with all componentry looking so fit with paint shimmering like a mirror as it was like the day it rolled off the assembly line. Examining this UL on a computer screen I can tell the quality is above OEM standards from the 1940’s era which was the project’s original target. The passion of using new-old-stock parts  helps retain the original Harley-Davidson sound, look, feel and now with modern assembly standards. Most likely, it possesses a tighter performing chassis and engine.

The era-proper exterior instantly sets the whole bike off in a positive direction. The black chassis with yellow, red and silver bits littered throughout looks physically tight together. Athletic at angles even though it’s a large powerful cruiser. The entire bodywork is NOS including the front end fender, headlight to the cockpit of Beck handlebars and suspended sculpted buddy seat back back to the OEM hardtail is well-done. The era-correct rear tombstone brakelight to the bumper is all pristine NOS too.

It’s easy to go overboard on appearance as this project did. They spent the same amount of attention updating the uncommon 74 cubic inch “Flathead” V-twin engine. This cycle has VIN-matching motor bringing value and authenticity up to an even higher level. You’ll find an era-proper famous 4-speed transmission which is also in operational new condition It’s logged zero miles since its rebuild and is in ripe condition for the next owner. The specifics of the parts are well-documented through the RK Motors listing here as well as details of how to bid. Start finding space in your garage now to park the next member of your fine stable.
